AI at Plat4orm: Statement and FAQ

At Plat4orm, we work with companies at the forefront of innovation across legal, professional services, security and compliance, and fintech. Our clients range from long-established industry leaders to ambitious early-stage trailblazers. Across all industry sectors that we work with, nearly all have launched AI products in the past ten+ years or integrated AI into their existing services. We’ve helped them articulate the value of these tools, how they enhance outcomes for customers, and how to establish responsible development and implementation guidelines.

Just as we’ve coached our clients to take a thoughtful, strategic approach to AI, we hold ourselves to the same high standard in how we develop and integrate AI within our agency. Here’s where Plat4orm’s AI framework stands today.

A Human-First Approach––Now and Then

Plat4orm has always stood out for its human-first strategic approach to  communications––whether in the personal touch we bring to client services, the close relationships we’ve built with journalists, or our ability to make technical products and services approachable and exciting to key audiences.

Our approach to AI is no different.

While we recognize its potential to enhance PR and strategic marketing, we also understand its current limitations. Through our client work, we’ve seen firsthand that AI innovation is most effective when paired with a human-first mindset.

For now, AI at Plat4orm is about making workflows more efficient so we can free up more time to focus on what matters most: delivering the tailored, thoughtful strategy and service that has been our hallmark for over a decade.

Here’s a few examples of editorial guidelines we’re seeing related to AI:

  • Language that explicitly prohibits the use of AI in article submissions
  • Requires original content
  • Requests for content written by an “actual authority on the subject”

That’s why we don’t rely on AI for client content creation. Every piece of original content––whether byline articles, press releases, or blog posts––is written by our team. While we leverage AI for brainstorming, outlining, and proofreading, authentic human creativity remains at the core of our process—because AI simply can’t produce professional-grade content in the highly-technical, nuanced industries that we serve.

Given the editorial trends in our focus areas, we will continue to invest in and refine this service. In fact, while many organizations have scaled back writing staff, we continue to build out our roster of writers and researchers. We truly believe this is the best way to get our clients the coverage they deserve.

Our team leaders have also worked with AI coaches on the development of responsible AI guidelines and attended AI professional development sessions specifically geared for public relations professionals, including the first-ever GenAI conference in 2023, hosted by Jasper, an AI-content platform.
